I think sometime this week is a reasonable time line, but who knows for sure. I thought they usually called around the middle of the month but maybe this month is a bit late from thanksgiving.

For SELECT folks, LVHN just announced a merger with Jefferson. No idea if it means anything but its good to know and keep looking at for updates.

Jefferson plans to acquire Lehigh Valley Health Network, forming a 30-hospital network

The deal, which is not definite, would create a system with 30 hospitals and $14 billion in annual revenue.

I think it's historically always been around the 15th but has not always been on the 15th exactly. Since they don't do portal updates, it could legitimately be that whoever gives calls is out sick or decisions are just delayed due to the holidays

I suspect the class of 2028 will be the last USF-LVHN SELECT cohort to participate in this program. Jefferson will then likely have LVHN as a rotation site for their own students.

I think we'll just have to wait and see. SELECT was actually proposed to USF by LVHN, not the other way around. They pitched the program to several programs in the northeast who turned it down and they ended up bringing it to USF because, as it was described to me, the CEO of LVHN and the dean of USF are old pals. So I think LVHN may look to preserve the program if possible

Do you think this incoming class will be much smaller? No SELECT would mean all of their students will have to do clinical rotations at their Florida location and idk how much capacity they can handle if they merge those two groups

I think you're stressing over baseless speculation.

Drink some tea and relax. The beautiful thing about this process is it's completely out of your control.

Very unlikely. This was a multi-billion dollar deal. Probably took months to negotiate and the admissions committee would have known this before select interviews were even sent out.

I don’t think it was too formal - my session didn’t have a lot of people with videos on so I was lowkey in my pjs

So speculation was right, SELECT is done as they just called the accepted select students and let them into core. Not sure what this means going forward w admissions process
