8/17 and 8/24Congrats! When were the interview dates?
Ideally for two days, they should be sending out a minimum of 40-50 invites.8/17 and 8/24
it's possible that some/most of those interview spots are for JAMP, ED, etcIdeally for two days, they should be sending out a minimum of 40-50 invites.
That is, if they plan to interview 20-25 a day.
Wondering the sameDoes anyone know how many interviews have gone out?
are you a special app like ED or JAMP?OOS II received today. Submitted 07/07
Wondering the sameare you a special app like ED or JAMP?
are you a special app like ED or JAMP?
Nope, no ED, JAMP, or relatives, just lucky I guess .Wondering the same
For being OOS you must have super dope stats. Congrats!!Nope, no ED, JAMP, or relatives, just lucky I guess .
Congrats! Does TCOM extend II from the highest stats going down or based on the order they receive the applications?In-state received II. ORM
Stats?In-state received II. ORM

looks good, your stats are slightly below their medians but it seems like the rest of your application is solid (assuming you have non-clinical volunteering too)Hi, everyone what are my chances at TCOM with the following stats/application?
GPA: 3.68 @ T20 institution Majored in Neuroscience
MCAT: 505
Volunteered at two hospitals: Total hours: 494
Conducted research since graduating in 2018: Have two publications; one being first-author (Total hours: 6000+ by now; plan on continuing until matriculation so will have 7680 hrs by then)
Shadowing: 226
TX resident / ORM
Appreciate it!
Appreciate the feedback!!looks good, your stats are slightly below their medians but it seems like the rest of your application is solid (assuming you have non-clinical volunteering too)
You can go to the school website and submit the secondary app yourself. They won't send out invitation. Is it too late for a TCOM secondary app? Do they send them out or are students expected to submit them through their website
I had similar stats to you last cycle also coming from a T20 and didn't get an interview here fwiw.Hi, everyone what are my chances at TCOM with the following stats/application?

I feel like TCOM is low key super community service oriented (as far as applicant profiles)I had similar stats to you last cycle also coming from a T20 and didn't get an interview here fwiw.
Appreciate it thank you so muchYou can go to the school website and submit the secondary app yourself. They won't send out invitation.
This is also what I’ve heardI feel like TCOM is low key super community service oriented (as far as applicant profiles)
If I am being honest they tell TX residents to apply in TX only for MD's (and TCOM) and non-TX residents not to apply TMDSAS because ultimately only 5-7% OOS students get in to TX schools. If you get a 512+ power to you but otherwise I always tell people they are wasting money applying here from OOS.I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what my chances are for TCOM.
Cumulative GPA: 3.91 BCPM: 3.89 (Microbiology major and double minor in Spanish and Chemistry at an OOS university)
MCAT: 496 (retaking on 8/27)
Volunteer: Food pantry from 2018-19, local ER from 2019-now, RMHC events from 2018-2020
Research: starting in a medical entomology lab in 2 weeks
Work Experience: peer academic liasion for residence hall, cashier and server at an Asian cafe, and lab assistant doing covid pcr tests
Lab experience: cytology assistant for a company and virology lab assistant for my school
Shadowing: 154 hours (primary care, retina specialist, radiology, pathology, trauma surgery, anesthesiology; at McGovern Med School, Memorial Hermann, UTH Galveston, and near me in Mississippi)
Involvement: Sorority, Vietnamese Student Association, American Medical Student Association
I am worried since I'm OOS and have a lower MCAT.
You could also ask this on WAMC thread but be prepared for brutal honesty. IMO, the MCAT is too low to be competitive as an OOS applicant regardless of any ties you may have since you are still not a resident. This school just has too many other OOS choices. I am sure you'll do much better on your retake and then you'll have a much better chance as an OOS applicant! Good luck we all need it!I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what my chances are for TCOM.

I hope not cause that’s what I’m gonna be doingIs submitting secondaries at the end of August too late for TCOM?
But hey guys, it’s the last week of August now. Schools need time to read your apps & give you a chance to interviewI hope not cause that’s what I’m gonna be doing
Send it to the admissions office with a thank you to everyone. For MMI interviews, is it appropriate to send a thank-you email?
Only 3 days of interview invitations sent so far, & last year there were 16 spanning August to January. I know, wait is a 4-letter word!Does anyone know if TCOM generally reviews in order of stats/complete date (obviously with exceptions)? TCOM is my hometown school and I was also complete pretty early (mid-June) so I'm not sure if I've been put on hold or screened out or something at this point
