I thought it was a good idea that we start a travel info thread to help one another out: ways to save money, share costs, etc.

Here goes a couple tips:

1) Those flying to chicago, check out spirit airways, very cheap discount to O'Hare (I got a RT $170 from half way across the US).

2) Those flyng to NYC, JetBlue flys $69 each way from many locations to JFK.

3) Those traveling to UPenn: don't book at the Penn Tower (way overpriced). Stay a couple miles from the airport at a hotel with a free shuttle to and from the airport (i.e. MicroTel), then take the SEPTA from the airport to UPenn (R1), this will save you tons of money.

4) Also, anyone interested in sharing the cost of rooms, etc. should post here.

Hope this is helpful info!

Good luck this week.

In regards to the DO question posted previously:
In 2002 the match looked like this:
89.6% U.S. seniors, 7.2% foreign-trained physicians, and 3.2% DO.

however not it doesnt indicate the percent of each who applied and match. thus, for instance, all DOs or IMGs who applied might have obtained a position, in theory.
