Hello
I'm wondering how many hours a day would I have to work in a radiation oncology residency. I am a single mom, and I am considering going to medical school to become a radiation oncologist. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Beckie

I figured it out. I went to the AMA website. That website had a lot of detailed information about residencies.

Thanks,

Hi Beckie -

Rad Onc is a great lifestyle specialty. It is definately the best specialty with patient care responsibilities. Of course, you would still have to make it through all the medical school rotations, at least 8 months with evening and weekend responsibilites, plus internship year. And there is home call in rad onc. RadOnc is really hard to get into these days but it would be an advantage to know right away you were interested. You could do research in the summers, etc.

Good Luck!

Ann
