no. they aren't really very "close" fields. The skills are nice to have but the "rad" gets students everytime. surg onc and rad onc are more closely related.
Thanks for the info. I'm trying to figure out if my last elective should be in diagnostic radiology or pathology. Which would you say would be more beneficial?
if it were me (and it was) id do whatever you find most interesting. both are useful. Certainly CT or MRI imaging is very useful (xray not so much) but really, its med school so take what you'd enjoy most if you ask me.
