Is it helpful to have other certifications as a podiatrist? I am mostly talking about other health-related certifications, such as certified personal trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist, etc. I was just wondering because I am a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and have been planning on getting certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist when I get my BS in July. I would love to do research/sub-specialize in an area related to fitness (specifically weight training). Is this an area that has been or could be explored extensively? I checked the AAPSM website but didn't see any info directly related. Thanks for your help!

I have a strong interest in sport fitness/weight training research as well. Maybe we will see each other down the line...

I hope we do see each other somewhere down the trail.
I think that weightlifting and podiatry are fields that could be very complementary. Any podiatrists out there do much work with serious weightlifters??
