Does anyone know what to do if you accept an interview for a specific date with one program and then another program has an interview for the same date but lets you know at a later time? Is it considered unprofessional to cancel the first interview to go to the second or is it somewhat inevitable during this process? Thanks!!

I've heard it's inevitable. Definitely go with the one that you're more interested in even if it came in second. The first program should understand there is a ton of overlap and people may be cancelling interviews to attend others.

Do schools send out 2nd round interviews? If we did not hear back after others have received invites, does that indicate a rejection?

I have heard some schools do rolling interviews (ie. Yale sent out an email saying they would offer interviews on a rolling basis), so with some, you may still get one. But I think majority do one round and all invites go out at the same time.

Yeah this is pretty legit. People who aren’t on SDN probably got invites listed in the website. Like someone else said earlier, some places give a second round of invites

My guess is that because peds is really competitive, they just want to have a bigger idea of who you are as an applicant. Your entire journey, not just who you were in dental school, is important. I’m not sure if they have any minimum GPA requirements.
