From KC, want to eventually go home after med school (not UHS). Anyone with any info about UHS/Park Lane please respond concerning intern/FP residency there, specifically whether they ever take non-UHS students and how I might best make that happen, whether they take non-UHS 4th years for rotations & which rotations you recommend, whether they send interns/residents to other KC hospitals (which ones) for OB and Peds, and in general whether it's a decent program. Also, anyone with any NEGATIVE info about this program please also let me know. Thanks.

While I don't have specific info about the UHS/Parklane FP residency
I have heard that it is good. Whether or not they take non-UHS grads,
I don't know, but I'm sure you could simply call the dept. and ask. I
would also ask for a list of FP residents and contact them directly to
get first hand info. As for 4th yr rotations, that may or may not
be a problem. There are barely enough positions for the UHS people,
and it will depend upon how many choose to also do their electives
there. In addition to Parklane, we also do rotations at Children's
Mercy and St. Joseph's (the administration is currently trying to
add others). Also, be aware that you can do electives at UMKC
and KU (if you have completed your cores), and there are many DO's in
their residency programs. I only have specific info about the IM programs,
but can tell you that at UMKC, nearly half of the IM residents are DO's,
and at KU, the current chief resident of IM is a DO. This info came
directly from the IM depts. at those schools. I would guess the situation
is similar for FP. As you can see, you have many options and should have
no problem coming home.
