Hey all - just a few questions for you....I was wondering when most of the PGY1 (Transitional Year) interviews took place? I'm planning out my 4th year schedule, and I need to know if being at an away elective for November would make it too tough for me to interview during that time, if that's when most PGY1 interviews took place. Also, did most of you get the impression that TY spots cared what field you were headed into, or did it not seem to matter?

Thanks, as always...

i got my apps in a bit late, but my interviews for pgy-1 were not until december. same for my rad onc interviews. based on my experience, away in nov should be fine.

oh yeah....

my impression was that ty types loved applicants from radiology and anesthesiology. one of my interviewers (a pathologist) looked quizically at me and said, "the only thing i know about radiation oncologists is that they go around quoting articles a lot."
