Just curious what you all know about 3rd/4th year housing? If you have to do a rotation that requires additional housing from your school’s location, do you end your lease or keep it and secure additional housing near your rotation? I’m trying to get a handle on the finances of it all.

This is very school dependent in my experience. For example, at my school you’re assigned a region that you do 3rd/4th year rotations in. You’d have to move to that region and there’d be no reason to keep your prior lease. Other places have large home programs so you never have to move at all. Then unfortunately I’ve heard of places that have students move all over the place for various rotations. Really just depends on how your school does clinicals. Time spent at different locations would be the determining factor of if it’s worth it to sign leases.

a family member went to a school where you spend 9 months at a specific hospital and health systems, so they were able to get an apartment for a year. They had 3 months of electives where they could stay in the area go somewhere else.
