there has been a lot of debate about OT admissions and what or how exactly admissions committees make their decisions. i've found an article written in 2010 by a mr. karthik raghunathan who was on the admissions committee for M.S. programs (NOT OT) at Stanford.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN READING ARTICLE:
1. this is not from the point of view of someone on an OT admissions committee. certain things will not be relevant to us . use the analytical thinking skills you learned in undergrad and don't find things to nitpick at when it's obvious they are not relevant to OT admissions.

2. mr. raghunathan states that the GRE Quant score is weighed more heavily than the Verbal score. He is talking about how that is viewed for the Computer Science MS at Stanford. if you do your research most OT grad programs view the Verbal and Analytical Writing score as more important than the Quant section.

3. he also states that the statement of purpose has less weight than anything else (again, he is talking about the Computer Science MS at Stanford, not OT programs). i would argue written communication is important to OT grad admissions and that for a lot of programs, this is very important and gives you a way to make yourself unique to everyone else.

that being said, he provides a wealth of information that will give you an idea of what kind of process grad admissions committees go through. and without further ado, here is the link:
