Dermatology Research Fellowship at the University of Arkansas for the Medical Sciences (UAMS), Little Rock, AR
The Department of Dermatology of UAMS is seeking highly motivated individual for a dermatology research fellowship position. Applications are being accepted for a 1-2 year Medical Dermatology Research Fellowship position for those who have completed an internship and is eligible for temporary license to practice medicine in Arkansas. Applicants should have an interest in medical dermatology and translational research, which encompasses laboratory and clinical trials in skin disease research projects. Specifically a motived individuals who have strong academic record and have an interest in medical dermatology as it relates to inflammation, cutaneous oncology, and autoimmunity is preferred. There will be preference for applicants with at least one year of training in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Transitional Medicine. Prior research experience in the laboratory or clinical trials is desirable, but not required. There will be opportunities to participate in dermatology clinical care, conferences and dermatology meetings.
The fellow will participate in numerous roles, in medical dermatology focusing on cutaneous lymphoma, psoriasis clinics, and clinical trials in psoriasis and cutaneous autoimmune disorders. The applicant will have the opportunity to gain broad experience in general dermatology from contribution in patient care. The applicant will be encouraged to participate and mentored in scholarly activities, including the drafting of manuscripts for publication and presenting work at local and/or national conferences.
UAMS is affiliated with the Arkansas Childrens Hospital and Arkansas VA Hospital. UAMS is located in Little Rock Arkansas and is the referral center for medical care from around the state. The environment is suburban. The primary mentor will be Henry Wong, MD, PhD, Department of Dermatology.
