I'm a pre-med student and have recently been exploring some different career ideas. I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the dental school admissions process. (GPA and DAT scores, what is the DAT and what does it involve, etc). What kind of training is done after dental school and for how long? Also, does anyone know a website that gives a list of all US dental schools? Thanks to anyone who can help me

To start you off, here's a site with a list and link to every dental school in North america.
http://www.aads.jhu.edu/links.html

You'll find info about average gpa and DAT scores on this site and what components are on the DAT. http://www.predental.com/

To answer your question on another post about forensic odontology, there is no specialty program that I know of that trains a dentist for forensics. I've talked to one forensic dentist and he mentioned that he got involved with research in forensics, had some papers published and joined some forensic organizations before he was able to practice forensics. I'll ask my friend who volunteers in his office and see what other info he can provide.
