Dear XXXXXXX.

I'm reaching out to share some important news about City of Hope.

Today, we announced our intent to acquire Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), a network of oncology hospitals and outpatient care centers across the United States. This is a defining moment in the fight against cancer, expanding patient access and democratizing world-class cancer care. It will be designed to increase responsiveness to the needs of patients and customers, while accelerating City of Hope's ability to deliver on its strategy to rapidly translate science into care and building on its novel model of connecting breakthrough research and discovery with leading clinical care.

This move will allow City of Hope to further its status as a premier research, scientific and patient care institution, combining the CTCA® patient care network, services and national profile to create a national, cancer-focused health system for even more patients, families and communities. Ultimately, we expect this to significantly increase the number of people who will have access to the high-quality, lifesaving treatments pioneered by City of Hope.

The press release with further details can be found here.

Over the course of the coming months, we look forward to finalizing this strategic acquisition, pending regulatory reviews and approvals. It's also important to note that our commitment to positively impacting patients' lives remains unchanged, and this will not impact patient care in any way. This is simply another way for City of Hope to continue to realize its vision of bringing the cures of tomorrow to the people who need them today.

Sincerely,
Michael A. Caligiuri, M.D.
President, City of Hope National Medical Center
Deana and Steve Campbell Physician-in-Chief Distinguished Chair
