I was accepted into ATSU SOMA and Touro Nevada. ATSU SOMA emphasizes in family practice places mainly family practice doctors (when compared to Touro NV). Family practice is not what I want to do.
In general, how much weight does a school's specialty preference matter to residency programs, not accounting for the school's selectivity in admissions, academic rigor, prestige, and coed stats.
In other words, will residency boards retract points if a school mainly turns out family practice doctors? "Eww, she's an ATSU SOMA grad, they basically only train for family practice there. She won't have the required skills for surgery. Rejected."
