Anyone know why high carb, low fat diet is recommended in chronic pancreatitis?

Surely both carbs and fat are bad in pancreatitis.

Thanks in advance.

Carb doesn't suffer (as much) because of salivary amylase. Fat is pretty much dependent on pancreatic enzymes.

Sort of related question but is carbohydrate breakdown just salivary amylase + brush border enzymes + pancreatic amylase?

Yeah but see pancreatic enzymes are one mechanism by which carbs are broken down. With fats, pancreatic enzymes are pretty much the only major mechanism.
