When is peak interview season for psychiatry or any other field?

Trying to book my aways and this is truly giving me a headache. One place offered me an away in December but I just don't know if it's worth it to do an away during this month...

I don’t know for psych in particular, but i had interviews October-January, with the majority in November and December. I personally wouldn’t want to do a sub-I during those months- having flexibility allows you to fit in more interviews than you would otherwise.

It also depends on what your goal is.

If you're looking for a letter of recommendation from the rotation, there likely won't be enough time to finish the rotation, get the letter and have it have any impact before ROL are due.

If you're looking to impress, being out for other interviews isn't the way to do it. Plus December is often a short month, with attendings and others being away, so you may have less exposure to faculty.
