Science GPA: 3.9
DAT score (include AA and all sections): 23 AA 24 TS 24 Bio, 26 GC, 23 OC, 21 PAT, 21 RC, 19 QR
State of Residence: RI
Undergrad Attended: State School
Major: Biology
Minority? No
Reapplicant? No
Nontrad? No, 2 gap years doing research
Shadowing Experience: ~100 by application time
~70 General
~20 OS
~20 Other dental
Volunteering Experience:
100 in ER
100 in Food bank
Employment: 2 years after grad
Research: 4 years of undergrad, 2 years after grad. 2 pub in undergrad and 2 possibly after graduation. No first author.
Other Extracurriculars: Biochem TA, Captain of intramural sports.
Have you volunteered/shadowed/attended events at any dental schools? No dental school events
Relevant Honors or Awards: Deans list all semesters. One award.
LOR type and strength: 2 profs, 1 PI, 1 dentist
Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere/Red Flags:
One W. Took the wrong class. Will this be a problem?

Agreed, remove NYU. Maybe consider Rutgers and UBuffalo since I know UB gives IS tuition after first year.

Otherwise, I don't have much to say about the list. It is top heavy, but you have the stats to back it up. I think BU, and Tufts are good safetys I'd also think maybe Temple would be a better substitute to NYU.

Wouldn't worry about the W. You might have to mention (in the application) why you have a W on your transcript but just mention you took the wrong course and that should be fine. I think I'd like to see a little more volunteer hours at the food bank, but otherwise just get your app submitted in June and I'd imagine you have a good shot. UoP will be interesting, only real outlier on the list given it's west coast but if you'd attend I'd keep it.

the problem is that the 4 highlighted schools are in the top 8-10 most difficult schools to get into in the country (outside of texas publics)
your stats are in the range, certainly, but with that top heavy of a list, you might want to add one or two more
agree with ryxn that buffalo and rutgers are good choices
