I believe student loans (or at least loans above the college level) started to accumulate interest the moment I earned my MPH. This change is something new to 2012 I think, as this used to start 6-months after graduation.
My question is, what happens to existing loan-debt after starting a PhD? Do the existing loans accumulate interest, or are they "frozen"? I believe they used to be frozen, but I'm not sure if anything else changed with the end of the 6-month grace period.
