Hey future Tritons! I'm definitely proud to be UCSD!

I'm planning to attend the second look weekend, being that I can hardly wait for school to start in the fall. That, and I'm pretty much sold.

I'm in agreement with you Radiohead, I *heart* UCSD too.

We'll be glad to have you. Bjork was sucked in long long ago.

People are already planning for your reception at the revisit. I hear there's going to be a beach bbq for current students and applicants arriving early enough on April 15th.

What are your thoughts on the UCSD summer prematriculation program?

i didnt do it, so i can't speak for it, but one advantage is that you get to meet your classmates earlier.

Hi guys,

Can you post the schedule for the second look weekend? Thanks.

did anyone get in recently? i have only heard waitlists... :(

'bumping' a thread one time...fine, bumping two times ok, but bumping 3 times including two in a row is just desperate. Dont add to a thread if you dont have anything new to add. if people want to post on this thread they will.

anybody fill out their financial aid forms? this junk is confusing, i fear im signing my life away. ok i dont mean that, while i am frustrated filling this junk out, i think i am actually just bumping to piss off long_john

BUMP
LOL!
I wish I could un-bump that.
So you only get waitlisted at ucla and you take out your rage on Long_john. Dont worry, it looks like I will soon be joining you in that boat or worse *gasp* get rejected. A long wait from UCLA has not been a positive sign so far.

still no status page love? this is rough. you are still in the game. and as i realized after the waitilst, getting w/ld at ucla improves ones odds slightly. 1/3 people interviewed get in, between 1/3 and 1/2 get in off the waitlist. im happy with my push.

the irony of your post here is 1) youve bumped our page by complaining about bumping, and 2) you are notorious for bumping the la thread with "anybody hear anything?!?! how about now?" posts, so who are you to complain? anyway good luck, i am still addicted to the ucla decision thread...

but I dont simply 'BUMP' a class of thread. and most of my posts usually add some new info to the table. so would you choose ucla over ucsd even if it requires you to wait out until mid-summer.

have you started to send them update letters/ LOI's yet?
i already sent them an LOI but that was a few months ago. I'm trying to get them an update letter to keep my application 'fresh' over there and I think I might need to just to stay avoid getting rejected when the next batch comes around.

LOL....All Cali threads become official UCLA threads

I did not want the thread lost, but I wanted to keep updated. If I am desperate so what? I did not bother you on any threads. Please respect my posting as well as others, even if it is a bump. I need the info and it would sincerely help.

erm when is 2nd look?

back in april. don't worry, orientation will be much better than 2nd look ever could be.

are there any activities y'all would particularly like to see happen? last year, we had a beach bbq, pub crawl, padres game, & casino night follow the usual snoozy daytime informational sessions.

you were at least year's orientation? i heard you deferred to this year ;).

I asked dr. kelly on the phone about financial aid. she told me that if i file one now, i'd get an (estimate) offer next week. if you haven't received an estimate, i'd call the fa office to see what sup

Do we get information on housing after submitting our 'intent to matriculate' form?

You can sign up for housing online.

how many of you are planning to live on campus? off campus? If off campus, when will you begin to look for apt?

well, when i filled out the affiliated housing app, it told me that there is a one to three year waiting list, so i'm thinking off campus is the way to go. i've looked a little bit on the internet, but i'll probably head down to sand diego at the end of the month or early july to look around more. probably won't finalize anything until closer to august.

there are lots of apartment complexes that look like they arent too far away. try www.apartmentguide.com or www.apartments.com, my gf and i have had luck looking at those.

does anyone know if there is a person who is in charge of helping us coordinate for dual degree programs? i want to check into it once i know whom i should contact.

I think sometime in the summer we get access to some student website which helps us coordinate housing? I think I'll start looking for an apartment at the end of July.

If we are planning on vacationing for a month in the summer do you think we should let the school know? Did any of you get any information about any health forms we need to fill out or where our final transcripts should be sent? I haven't received any information from the school for a while. Thanks guys! See you next year

Do any of you know if we're supposed to do a health clearance and where all the forms are?

Like most schools, UCSD requires a physical before starting medical school. Last year, forms were on the new admit forum/webpage. I don't know if they have put that up yet. But it's probably a good idea to book an appt with your physician now and start digging up those immunization records.

hey,

Who is from Cal and going to UCSD this fall? Anyone out there wait-listed for UCLA and waiting for their response before heading off to UCSD for sure?
