Surgery AI/Sub-I during 4th year?

Is it required to do a acting intership/sub intership month in general surgery during your 4th year if you are applying to ENT? I assumed no, but now I am getting mixed messages from my advisor (who, granted, is a general surgeon).

I had just assumed you needed a ENT clerkship.

You should do an ENT sub-I if you are planning to apply to ENT. There is no requirement to do any general surgery 4th year.
