Is there a maximum period of time that someone can stop doing critical care and still be able to be credentialed?

Anything over a year you can expect issues. I personally know an intensivist that didn’t practice anesthesia for a couple of years and had a really rough time getting credentialed, even for locum. He ultimately found a place that was desperate enough for coverage to credential him and was able to get back into it.

Well, I’ll let you know how it works out after my not-so-brief hiatus.
