ALEXANDER BRUNSCHWIG ROTATING RESIDENT PROGRAM
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Date Posted: July 22, 2019
The Alexander Brunschwig Rotating Resident Program provides up to three months of intensive clinical and academic experience in gynecologic oncology for obstetrics and gynecology residents from ACGME accredited programs. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Brunschwig Rotating Residents are integrated as full members of the clinical team, involved with all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care. The residents attend outpatient clinics, assist with surgical procedures and the perioperative care of patients. Working as members of a multidisciplinary team including Medical Oncologists and Radiation Oncologists, the residents learn the modern management of gynecologic cancers in a multidisciplinary setting. Resident participation in surgery varies with the level of experience of the resident and the complexity of the surgical procedure. Brunschwig Rotating Residents participate in weekly didactic and multidisciplinary educational conferences and grand rounds, as well as specialty conferences at the Center on related scientific subjects. BENEFITS: Depending on availability, Brunschwig Rotating Resident may be provided a furnished apartment adjacent to the hospital. They will have access to the academic support facilities of the Department. The parent-training program would continue to provide basic stipend and health insurance coverage for the resident while the resident is at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. ELIGIBILITY: Residents must be from an ACGME accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology training program. Written approval from the residency program director is required. Clinical rotations are best suited for residents during their second or third year of Obstetrics and Gynecology training.
