Hello,
My friend is a PGY 2 in an Internal Medicine program at a community hospital and is considering Hematology and/or Oncology for fellowship.
He is good clinically but has no past research experience. He will probably be able to get a poster and case report published by the time he applies in June 2012 ( there is no significant research environment at his hospital). Also to consider is the fact that he is an IMG.
From all above, he knows that he has less chances of getting a good enough clinical fellowship program at first go. So the other option is to do a dedicated research via a fellowship.
Are there any research fellowships in H&O he may consider to make himself a good candidate to compete for a clinical H&O fellowship ?
I will highly appreciate if you guys may give some helpful input here.
