[vardenafil]

im reading wisemans book studying for the cpje. in one of the later chapters he talks about if a patient brings in a c2 written for a 60 day supply and the insurance will only cover 30 days. you can run 2 prescriptions from the original rx. one for 30 days insurance and one for 30 days cash. is this still true? my understanding that under the new federal guidelines that would constitute a refill and thus be illegal? making 2 scripts out of the rx would be illegal in my two current stated of practice. is this allowed in ca?

The DEA has since updated their regulations and states that only a 30 day supply of a CII can be given, regardless of how much the doctor writes for.
