So I've been going through the MSAR and looking more into which schools I'll apply to this June. I'm at 39 schools so far and looking to cut that down to around 25. Here's the list:

Baylor

Brown

BU

Case Western

Columbia

Cornell

Dartmouth

Duke

Emory

Georgetown

GW

Harvard

Icahn at Mt Sinai

Iowa

Johns Hopkins

Miami

Michigan

Northwestern

NYU

OSU

Penn (Perelman)

Pitt

Rochester

Thomas Jefferson

Tufts

Tulane

U Colorado

UC

Uchicago

Umass

UNC

UVA

Vanderbilt

VCU

Wake Forrest

WashU

Wisconsin

WVU

Yale

My state of residence will be either Ohio or Mass., so based on which one I'm a resident of I'll either cut out UMass or OSU and UC.

Stats: 520 MCAT, 3.81 GPA, top-25 private undergrad. 2000 hours of research in 2 different labs, 1 publication (5th author) and 1 poster. Hopefully submitting another manuscript by June, but not guaranteed. ~200 hours of clinical volunteering, ~200 hours non-clinical volunteering. Biology tutor, random employment on campus, and other on campus extracurriculars like frisbee team, intramural sports, and writer for the school newspaper. Secretary and then Vice President of a club. Also, kind of unique, coach for a differently-abled sports team. I have also undertaken independent baseball research, presented it at a large Sabermetrics conference, and contribute as a writer to this baseball website, which I hope helps me stand out. Will get really good LOR.

~50 shadowing hours across 4 specialties, half of those hours were surgery. I'm also white. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

With those stats, you should skip med school altogether and become a Dr....

Start with cutting:
GT, GW, UWash, Brown, Tufts, Iowa (IS bias?), WVU
