percentile score of NBDE part 1

Can someone provide me some information on how the score is calculated?

I can understand that its a percentile score, so you are compared with other people that also took the test. This makes sense with the written exams of July and December because other people take it on the same day so there is a pool to compare to. But what about the computer exams? Since they can be taken any time, how are they calculated as a percentile? How do they calculate a curve?
