Hi all,

I know Peds Endocrine is a small field so this post may not get any attention, but I figured I'd start a thread anyway!

When is everyone's first interview? Anyone doing in person or all virtual?

My first one is 9/10. Looks like most programs have dates in Sept-Oct (not sure if any are doing Nov dates yet).

Cinnci Children's offered an in-person or virtual (up to the applicant) but my hospital won't allow travel right now. All other programs are all virtual.

If anyone wants to do interview impressions anonymously, I'd be glad to be the point person. You can message me your impressions and I'll post them with your name removed.
 
I had one interview yesterday. Was virtual. Yeah Cinncinati was the only one that offered in person for me. Everything else is virtual. Baylor had some dates in November. The virtual interview was the same as other interviews. I feel like all the didactics being in zoom made me comfortable enough. Only thing was it was hard to get a pic of the physical location and Hospital vibes and all.
 
I think virtual interviews will be both good and bad. On the positive side, I feel like I'll be able to judge a program entirely based on their merits (faculty, curriculum, research) rather than being distracted by the facilities. On the other hand, it is hard to know how I would like to live there without seeing the area.

I've luckily been to most of the cities where I applied, but certainly have not seen the hospitals.

I haven't heard from Boston. I didn't apply to CHOP or Stamford.

So far I've done two virtual interviews. I was impressed with how much I got out of the interviews given that we can't actually be in the facility. I really enjoyed both programs so far. Both did a good job of giving a virtual tour, pictures, etc to help us get a feel of the program and the hospital.
