Is it better to pass/fail and retake a premed req (physics) or withdraw and retake?

I'm not sure how you'd be able to pass/fail a pre-req and then retake it if you passed, and presumably earned credit for the course?

A lot of schools changed their policies post-COVID and no longer accept P/F if not taken during that first pandemic year.

Edit: this primarily applies to the core prereqs

They would retake physics either way, so would pass/fail or withdraw look better ftm?

I'm not sure I really understand and maybe it's because I went to a school where you couldn't retake credits you've already passed, but at this school are you able to retake any class for any reason regardless of grade outcome?

The bigger question imo: Is your friend in a position where they would get a grade worse than a C?
