Co-worker has shoulder pain and can apparently get an appointment to see OT several weeks before he can see PT. I remember being told by a family physician that OT is good for shoulders to fingers, however I had a PT I worked with once tell me that OT is more below the shoulders.

What is the average OT's "comfort level" and experience with treating shoulder injuries? Is it something y'all can do, but prefer to leave to PT, or is it something y'all feel as comfortable with as hands?

Thanks

Any CHT should be comfortable treating all upper extremity injuries. I feel that with a shoulder injury PT or OT can treat if they feel comfortable. I’ve seen PTs and OTs work on upper extremity injuries but it’s more of OT’s specialty. It just depends on availability in your area!
