Interested IMG;

Is it basically impossibly for an IMG to get into Ophthamology Residency..

Obviously good scores are needed, but my university dosen’t have electives in ophtho..
so what do I do?

Look for research?
Do observerships?
Try to find Non-affiliate electives?

According to the 2018 stats, 27% of IMG's that applied got in. 64 applied and 17 got in.

I'd honestly contact a school you're interested in and ask what they look for so you maxcmize your chances..

My guess def research and observerships. My guess would be try surgical electives e.g. plastic surgery which may be related to occuloplastics etc.
