Still nothing from Emory, Northwestern, Michigan, and Duke, huh? :/
Congrats on your interviews, guys!
To keep the thread interesting, here are some questions:
1. How are interviews going? Have you done at least 1? -- I haven't done any yet. But I'm at 6
2. What is your ratio or percent of application to interview invite? 6/11 . I applied 15 (5 ignored and 6 gave interviews and 4 pending)
3. Any programs you're still waiting to hear from? --Univ of Michigan, George Washington
4. Are you starting to turn down interviews? -- Nope not that lucky yet LOL
5. Do you have a tentative rank list? -- Yes I do. but could change during interviews, and landscape/housing markets etc
6. Have you found programs that surprised you and made you rank them higher or lower? -- NOT there yet lol
7. Anyone else in your program also applying? -- I'm the only one in my program applying ID. 1 Cardio, 3 PCC (pulmo), 1 Rheum, 1 Heme/Onc
8. Did you apply regionally or all over? -- Nope Midwest and Northeast really
9. I'm a Nigerian prince with a big inheritance. Will you help me get it? -- You one too. Send me a check to confirm lol
Not yet.Has anyone heard from Mount Sinai (the main one, not West/Morningside/BI)?

To keep the thread interesting, here are some questions:
1. How are interviews going? Have you done at least 1?
2. What is your ratio or percent of application to interview invite? If you're comfortable, you can share specific numbers like 9/15 or say 80% ROI
3. Any programs you're still waiting to hear from? As in they are not in the list
4. Are you starting to turn down interviews?
5. Do you have a tentative rank list? Yes or no without revealing programs
6. Have you found programs that surprised you and made you rank them higher or lower? Yes or no. No need to reveal names. You can vaguely say why (eg, i liked faculty or they don't do the research i was hoping to do)
7. Anyone else in your program also applying?
8. Did you apply regionally or all over?
9. I'm a Nigerian prince with a big inheritance. Will you help me get it? Just kidding!!!

Hey,1. I have done 1 interview so far
2. 25 invites from 58 programs applied. That amounts to roughly 43%
3. Still waiting to hear from Emory, Duke and U of michigan
4. I'm turning down IVs at this point
5. I have a tentative rank list but that could change as I go through the IVs
6. too early to tell
7. One of my colleagues is also applying to ID
8. I applied all over as I have no geographic ties
9. I will always help nigerian prince as they always mean business
I have not... still holding out hope thoughAnyone hear from Emory?
Guaranteed match is like 5 ranks even for IMGsHey,
Congrats on the success so far!
I'm sure you're doing this, but please make strong considerations about your multiple interviews. I did a similar approach as you did and applied everywhere (outside of expensive cities). I got around to September/October and just cancelled interviews. I had too many interviews already and didn't want to be selfish. If you're waiting for places that you really want to go to, that's great. But don't hoard these interviews. Having 15-20 interviews will be fine.
Goodluck

I was being generous. I'd say 10 would be safe but would love to see the data regarding 5 because I've had people rank 5 and not match to ID. So, I'm curious, is all.
Interesting... people didn't match with 5?
* i wonder if those people apply afterwards (post match) since like 30% of ID went un match. But granted you apply to fellowship 2-3 years ago correct? so data definitely changes
@Kaustikos did you match to your #1 or top 5 ?

Document page 147 or PDF page 152
Only 1 IMG didn't match 6 , but everyone with 3-5 did. For FMG only 1 with 8 ranks didn't but everyone with 5-7 did. 10 ranks sounds like a reasonable compromise since in 2018 they weren't virtual interviews
Still here waiting, as are my co-residents :/Anyone heard from Duke or Emory? Or have coresidents that have heard from them? I don't expect an interview but I want closure haha
Hi, why didn't you like Beth Israel? ThanksWell,
There's the issue. My app cycle was 2020. I mean, it's still good. Like I said; there were factors in play that may have impacted their match potential which I won't get into. Charting outcomes have overall been favorable for ID applicants. And job prospects are even better. Most job offers have a 10k moving and 50k sign on bonus working with groups. Calls are usually every 3-4 weeks. I only looked out for programs that had 1 or 2 Attendings, or average consensus was 20 patients (no thank you).
But, you guys aren't there yet!
All the best!
Most of the programs I applied/interviewed at were great. Only aside was Beth Isreal in NJ. Maybe I was the only one with the bad luck.
Hi, why didn't you like Beth Israel? Thanks
Oh wow. Sorry you had a bad experienceThe fact that they forgot I was interviewing there, amongst a host of other things. But mine is anecdotal. Just don't appreciate being told to drive down there instead of doing zoom and this happens.

I never heard from them... I'm sure they've sent invites by now, maybe just not to any of us on this threadno one heard from emory?

Yeah
Yes! I cancel on ERAS and then send an email to the coordinator.Hello everyone! Is it okay to cancel interviews after scheduling them as long as we provide adequate notice? I wanted to see what everyone else is doing? Thanks
How are everyone's interviews going so far?
Actually, I just found some NRMP data on this after a quick google search. Enjoy!Any ideas insofar as what rank range most people match into for ID? I remember when I was applying for IM residency everyone kept saying that most applicants (US MD) end up matching within their top three choices. (I ended up matching at my fourth so that was a bit of a surprise for me haha)
The faculty/interviewers have been so nice everywhere! No weird questions I've been asked so far. Have there been programs that stood out to any of you all? And in what way?Gone on 3 so far. Have 2 next week. Loving the process so far. feeling really good. How about you?
Any weird questions?
The NRMP has a database of programs participating in the match (located at the same place we log into when we rank programs, NRMP), so I would just search there and use thoseHello everyone! I was looking through the website and information provided by the programs I interviewed at and most if not all don't have NRMP codes mentioned anywhere. Did you all notice that too? If so, when the time comes to rank programs how do we do that? Do we just search the program/use ACGME code? Thank you
