Hello all,

I'm an MSIII planning to apply in Peds next year. I want to know if anyone has experience with the National Health Service Corps loan repayment program. It sounds like something I'd really love to do (and need to do, financially) after residency. Any anecdotal experiences (good or bad) with the program as a pediatrician would be much appreciated.

Also, I understand that in order to qualify for the program, one must do general pediatrics. I have no problem with that right now, but I may decide to go for a fellowship during residency. Does anyone out there have a sense of what kind of disadvantage I'd be at if I don't apply for a fellowship directly out of residency?

Thanks for your help and congrats on the match. It sounds like everyone's hard work paid off.
