USMLE Nephrotic vs. nephritic

The way I am thinking of remembering it is:

Nephrotic - massive proteinuria, significant hypoalbuminemia. GFR initially increases as filtration barrier is destroyed, but then decreases as more and more nephrons become non-functional.

Nephritic - hematuria. GFR decreases. Post-infection (i.e. post-streptococcal)


Is my understanding correct, particularly my simplifications regarding GFR?
