Hi! I'm currently an MPH student considering potential public health internship sites for Summer 2022. I was wondering if any MPH graduates or current students have any recommendations? I'm mainly interested in maternal and child health, immigrant and refugee health, and community health but I'm open to other areas of public health as well. As for location, I'm open to international opportunities and orgs based in NY, CT, RI, MA, DC, MD, or VA.
I'm looking for internship where I can directly apply the skills I developed during my MPH program (e.g., evaluating public health interventions), even if it's not within the most renown public health department or non-profit. As someone who worked in public health before, I've seen graduate students be given mundane tasks that any undergrad can do (like data entry or taking notes from webinars) and that's definitely something I'd like to avoid.
