Does anyone know the difference in how these two drugs affect the neuron?
I know that ritalin is a dopaminergic reuptake inhibitor and that amphetamine promotes the release of catecholamines. But how does amphetamine enter the neuron... or does it? is it via a receptor?
Basically what I'm wanting to know is some specific details of the MOA of these two drugs. I've looked in G&G and Katzung but I can't find an answer to what I'm looking for.
I'm wondering if using the two drugs together would be syngergistic and therapeutically benenficial for more severe cases of ADHD... or would they counteract each other?
I appreciate any help
