Is there a specific reason you're asking for this (i.e. job search, career planning)? The premium depends on numerous factors including:
1. Insurer (in some instances, large hospital systems will have their own malpractice trust fund)
2. Practitioner (experience, history, practice setting)
3. Location (great variability from state to state)
4. State malpractice rules and regulation (tort reform can impact premiums, albeit not as much as people think)

Yes I will be finishing residency and am looking in the NE area for private or hospital based jobs....
AFAIK none of the states I mentioned have tort reforms...

From personal experience, malpractice doesn't factor in much when it comes o the hospital jobs as you are covered just as any other active staff is. This is with the assumption that you are a hospital employee. With respect to private practice, it does matter and will factor into your overhead calculation. The practice may offer you a guaranteed salary with phased in productivity over the coming years. During the phase in and after you are in a full production based formula, your collections/wRVU's must cover the overhead cost, therefore the higher the malpractice premium, the higher the amount you must cover per year. So, I can see why you're interested. Here are some resources to get a feel:

I can't answer your specific question.

I was told (by an attending when I was interviewing for a residency spot in Philly) that the hospital budgeted $145,000 per year per obgyn attending.

The hospital was a large, well-know, academic center in down town Philly.
