Hey guys, I wanted to see what kind of tail coverage you guys get. I recently started the process of getting new malpractice insurance. I thought back to my last policy which was set up by my last part-time job, and the contract stated that they would set up tail coverage. I though, "hey I should get a copy of that for my records." Turns out, it was never done. I'm working on getting it done now, but they will only do tail coverage through the state's statute of limitations which has actually almost expired. Looks like there are lawsuits done outside of this time period if discovery wasn't reasonable to be done within that time-frame. It that usually considered sufficient? In the end, it was Family Medicine without procedures, part-time for less than a year, and I think the risk is small. Would it be worth trying to get different coverage?
