LORs processing through ECFMG

I am extremely upset at how slowly ECFMG is processing LORs at the moment. Does anyone know if adding LORs after submitting your app hurts your chances in any way? At this rate I am not going to be able to add 3/4 of my letters until 3 days after the application date. I'm so pissed that there is absolutely no wait time for the US MD students. There really should have been an earlier deadline for LORs if ECFMG couldn't handle the volume.
