LECOM vs ACHE
hi everyone, I need help deciding between three schools. I got into LECOM Erie and Bradenton’s masters programs, along with ACHE (Arkansas college of health education, where ARCOM is) but I can’t decide where to go. Also, I did attend an in person interview at ACHE so I have a better feel for their school.
LECOM Erie pros
- COMLEX pass rate is >95%
- less than 4 hours from home
- DO tuition is about 40k
Cons
- weird food and water rule (would cause me not to study on campus)
- masters tuition is ~22k
- more formal dress code than ACHE
- closer to cities than ACHE
- I HATE snow and cold weather
- mandatory classes
- unclear about how many people start medical school after completing the program or what the linkage requirements are
LECOM bradenton pros
- see above
- I love the beach and hot weather
- my aunt lives about an hour away and my family visits her about 2-3 times a year
cons
- see above
- seems to have worse med school acceptance outcomes than Erie
ACHE pros
- masters tuition is 10k
- classes aren’t mandatory if you maintain a certain grade in the class
- genuinely seem to care about their students and the surrounding community
- MSB students take anatomy with OMS1 students
- I would have a 5 minute walk to campus fro my apt
- the weather is warmer than the great lakes region
- I like to hike
- more relaxed dress code
- clear about how many students go to medical school after and what the linkage requirements are
- 100% match rate for 2024
ACHE cons
- about a 12 hour drive from home
- excuse my french, but wtf is there to do in Arkansas
- close to only Dallas and empty land
- DO tuition is ~55k
- flight tickets are $600-700 to my hometown
- COMLEX pass rate was only 88%
