The Wake Forest secondary states "Describe a non-academic you have faced and how you overcame it." The secondary on adversity I have been using discusses the following:

After studying abroad in Costa Rica and completing my spanish for the health professions minor I interviewed to volunteer as a bilingual navigator at the hospital at my school. I did not pass the bilingual skills assessment and was told I exhibited the necessary language skills but not medical terminology, which was a hit to my self-confidence after practicing my medical spanish all summer. I persisted and grew my medical terminology by studying vocabulary more and reading medical news in spanish. A month later I interviewed to be an interpreter at the free clinic at my school and passed the skills assessment. This interpreting position is one of my most meaningful activities.

My question is, would this be considered "non-academic" in the context of this prompt?
Nope. Try harder.
