Hi, I was unsure whether to include high school research in my work/activities section and whether I should include it in the calculation of Significant Research Hours. I will be including it in my Significant Research experience essay (due to having an award from science competition and abstract presented at conference). However, I have seen some conflicting points about whether to include it in the work/activities section and total research hours since I did not continue this high school research into college.
Include High School Research?

You can include them if they are in a recognized biomedical research facility. Do not if there were just at your high school. It is the quality of the research experience that drives the inclusion or not. If you do include, you might need to get a letter from that PI for some institutions who would want letters from ALL research mentors.
