how much does in-state help? (university of illinois)

hi all. i'm thinking of applying to the university of illinois. i live in chicago, however attend undergrad at a top 20 liberal arts college on the east coast. any idea about how much being in state will help me with u of i?

Members don't see this ad.
 
they do give preference to their in state residents but not a whole lot. They accept a large number of OOS students. Its about 70% in state and 30% out of state. Chicago is one of those states that doesnt really give heavy preference to the in state students.
