I am debating whether or not to do heme/onc vs. onc only. I have been researching this but can't find an answer whether or not there is a significant pay difference? Not that that is my issue but it's just a question. Not sure I am interested in benign heme enough to do an extra year. The program I am looking at has both so just curious whether or not there is a pay difference you have or have not heard of.

Thanks!

Most people are joining groups after finishing fellowship and almost any group would prefer a heme/onc trained doc compared to an onc trained doc.

You would be able to provide less flexibility for the group and be able to provide less services. Your reimbursement and job opportunities would almost certainly be less as an oncologist alone.
