graduating school affecting residency match

i am in the process trying to figure out where i want to go for med school and wanted to get people's opinion on how much the reputation of the school you are affects where you end up? also, if you are thinking about a specific specialty would itbe adivisable to look at schools that have a stronger program in your specific interest?

it may sound silly, but i would advise going to the school that you feel most comfortable at and doing well there. good grades, good clinical marks and good board scores will give you a good chance to go wherever you want. for instance...all of these things at a state school are better than being a middle-tier student at a top school, in my opinion.
