I mean the information is still there, but they relabeled the section in FA 2016 into just regular "acute" and "chronic" gastritis, no mention about there being Type A and Type B. Why the change in nomenclature? New standard in the GI community?

Yes etiologic classification is now the generally accepted standard which helps with the treatment.
