Chat GPT question

Is it a bad idea to use chat GPT to help edit your secondary essays. under the assumption that all the content is yours but you would like it to help you with the flow/grammar and some word choice?
I can see it being bad to use to generate answers or full essays for the personal statement but I do not see it being bad to help with the things above. It is vastly cheaper than hiring a profession writing coach or some third party source.


Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

A free grammar checker will make fewer mistakes and make your writing flow better. AI writes at a 4th grade level and is usually extremely generic. If you are ok with losing all of your personal voice in your secondaries, then use AI

Spelling and grammar checking have been around quite a while, and even making suggestions for better flow and structure isn't really that big of an issue. It is completely generating content that is the issue, and the free language models don't help you stand out.
