Hello, aspiring medical school applicants!

Before you begin your applications for this year, we want to remind you that many programs and institutions now require the Casper SJT for the 2023/2024 admissions cycle. To help ensure you are ready, we would like to provide you with some information on the assessment, and how it works.

About Casper
Casper is an open-format, situational judgment test that measures competencies and attributes important for successful students. Based on years of academic research, Casper gives applicants opportunities to showcase their unique personal and professional strengths, in a fair and reliable way, to support a programs admissions decisions.

Casper is a 90-110 minute online test that includes typed and video response questions. Some programs also require Duet, a 15-minute mission-alignment assessment that looks at how well your own goals align with that of a program. If required, Duet is available immediately after taking Casper. In order to take the assessments, you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer with webcam and audio capabilities and a reliable internet connection.

Do you need to take the Casper SJT?
To find out if the programs you're interested in require Casper, check out our published test dates portal. You will be prompted to select the individual schools that you are applying to, and at that time you will also see their specific requirements for Casper.

To help you with your school selection, you can learn more about various US programs you may be applying to, including estimated costs, acceptance rates, historical admissions statistics, and more, using our searchable database of US programs at Acuity Insights Assessments.

Signing up for Casper
To sign up for Casper, please visit www.acuityinsights.app and register using your government-issued photo ID. Don't forget to select the programs you're applying to for distribution before the posted distribution deadline. It is also recommended that you complete Duet, if required, within 14 days of taking Casper.

If you have any questions about Casper or its use in holistic admissions processes, you can visit our applicant site at acuityinsights.app and use the chat bubble to speak to a member of our team directly. The applicant site also has a complete FAQ designed to answer common questions we receive from applicants each year.
