UNSW is a good university. None of the medical schools in Australia are of a ppor standard. it's probably not as prestigious as University of Sydney but ti's still a good school. One important feature is that it's an undergraduate entry program- 6 years rather than the 4 year gradaute program at places like Uni of Sydney etc. Hope this helps.

Yes, we ROCK!

Hhhmm no seriously, tho if you are not here now, I would have reservations about recommending it, mainly because 1st year this year is the first year of a whole new curriculum, which is almost entirely PBL. This is a huge shift from the previous traditional program to one that is much more touchy feely. Personally I would not want to be a guinea pig in this program, most of our profs like to make jokes about it, although they may just be trying to make us dinosaurs in the old program feel better.

The other thing is that this year was the last year for getting credit for previous studies, the new curriculum is "fully integrated" so even if you have a bachelors you will start at year one like all the high school kiddies. If you are straight out of high school though that wont be a problem!

But hey, if you love PBL, want to be a pioneer in a new med program and are up for six years despite having done college/bachelors then maybe its the way to go!
