I am a Hong Kong student. In the coming 2005 I will start to study medicine in UNSW. To my concern, I am afraid I can not do my internship in Australia. Could anyone provide me with any opinion?

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that you will be unable to stay in the country and therefore not be able to do an internship is Aus? Or are you worried that you will not get a place?

I recently posted an article to http://ausmedstudent.com/ which details how internships are allocated in NSW. It includes how foreign students etc are placed. You might find it useful.

There can be a difficulty in doing an intership in Australia based on getting visas etc but this doesn't seem to be much of a problem especially if you are prepared to go to some of the less desireable places rather than stay in the prime hospitals such as Royal North Shore or RPA.
